The participants of the project visited the University Language Research Centre CRISCO and had a meeting with its director Dr. Pierre Larrivée, the European coordinator of the project Tempus. He told the trainees about the university and organised a meeting with its leading experts.

The participants of the project got the opportunity to visit the Language Centre Carré International, the University phonetic laboratories, resource centres, and departments.

During the seminars and round table talks the representatives of the partner universities of Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and their French colleagues discussed the question of cooperation among the universities, and shared their experience in delivering programmes for training language teachers, designing training materials, and implementing information technologies in educational process.

The project Tempus participants also presented the results of the survey they had held in their regions. Associate Professor of the French Philology department of Voronezh University Tatiana Kozyura made a presentation of the results of the survey among language teachers of secondary schools of Voronezh and the Voronezh region.

The programme of the workshops held at Universite de Caen Basse-Normandie covered the following issues:

• specifics of language teaching in schools in France (Isabelle Triniac, Daria Toussaint);
• a new concept of language teaching: from French as a foreign language to French as a second language (Thierry Legouix, Carmen Avram);
• use of information technologies in language teaching (Odile Blanvillain);
• training of language teachers in France, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan: a comparative analysis (Pierre Larrivée).
