TEMPUS consortium in Tashkent (Uzbekistan)

From 21st to 25th November, 2017 Elena Chaika and Marina Shcherbakova took part in the consortium held in the framework of the TEMPUS project «Developing the Teaching of European Languages: Modernising Language Teaching through the development of blended Masters Programmes». The event was held in a partner institution – the Uzbek State University of World Languages (Tashkent).

The working meeting was organised in the format of the training workshops devoted to modern approaches in language teacher training on MA programme. The main purpose of the event was the presentation of the TEMPUS project implementation results in partner-countries educational institutions and cascade training of university teachers and master students of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Elena Chaika made a presentation reporting on the implementation of the TEMPUS project in Voronezh University and on the master’s programme «Teaching foreign languages with the use of online technologies» at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology. She also held a number of sessions on the module «Technology and Language Teaching» with the first and second year master students of the Uzbek University of World Languages and language teachers of Uzbek universities.

Marina Shcherbakova, within the module«Age Pedagogy»delivered the lecture on the organisation of language teaching on the account of learners’ personal features helda seminar «How to write a master thesis in Language Education».

The chief TEMPUS project coordinator, the Director of postgraduate programmes in English and Reader at the Department of Applied Linguistics of Aston University (Birmingham, UK), Dr. Susan Garton praised the progress of the project in Voronezh State University and the results obtained by the VSUTEMPUS working group.
