Visit of Dr. Nur Hooton (Nur Kurtoglu-Hooton) to VSU

From April 25th to May 1st, 2016 Voronezh University was visited by the Programme Director of the on-campus MA in TESOL Studies of University of Aston (UK) Dr. Nur Hooton.

On April 25th she had a meeting with the rector Dmitry Endovitsky and Vice-Rector for Economics and International Affairs Oleg Belenov. During the meeting, Prof. Endovitsky noted the fruitful cooperation between the VSU and Aston University and expressed confidence in its successful continuation. Scientific-practical seminar in the Borisoglebsk branch of VSU

On March 24th, 2016 the Borisoglebsk branch of VSU held a regional scientific-practical seminar on the innovations in language education. The seminar was attended by language teachers of the department of philological disciplines and methodology of their teaching in the Borisoglebsk branch of VSU, students of the programme «Teacher education», and language teachers of secondary schools in Voronezh and Volgograd regions. From 1st to 5th February, 2016 Aston University (Birmingham, UK) hosted a meeting of rectors and representatives of the universities — member organisations of the consortium for the project544161-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR Aston University «Developing the Teaching of European Languages: Modernising Language Teaching through the development of blended Masters Programmes». Voronezh State University and the University of Caen-Basse-Normandie: new stage of cooperation

The students of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of Voronezh State University Ekaterina Gordeeva and Oleg Borisov studying on the master’s programme «Teaching foreign languages with the use of online technologies» received an international grant from the programme Erasmus+. From January 17th toJune17th, 2016 they will be involved in the training process at the University of Caen-Basse-Normandie (France). The students’ training is carried out according to their individual educational trajectories and subject to the ECTS system of offsetting the disciplines taught in the partner universities on the relevant master’s programmes. Participation in the international scientific-practical conference in Stary Oskol

On November 25th, 2015 the 1st year students of the Master’s programme «Teaching foreign languages with the use of online technologies» Oleg Borisov, Ekaterina Gordeeva, Elena Esikova, as well as the Assistant Professor of the English Philology department Elena Chaika took part in the international scientific-practical conference «The standards of modern education: problems and prospects of implementation», which was held at school № 6 in Stary Oskol (Belgorod region). More than 200 participants of the conference presented the results of their theoretical research and practical experience of language teaching in different types of Russian and foreign educational institutions. Elena Chaika made a plenary report on «Actual problems of language teaching in the new educational paradigm», prepared in cooperation with the Associate Professor of the German Philology department Marina Shcherbakova.

Master’s students’ meeting with a teacher of the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages (Uzbekistan)

On November 18th, 2015 the 1st year master’s students of the programme «Teaching foreign languages with the use of online technologies» had a meeting with a Senior Lecturer of the French Language and Literature department of the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages (Uzbekistan) Dmitriy A. Kiselyov. D. Kiselyov came to Voronezh to take part in the 3rd International scientific and practical seminar «Discourse, interpretation, translation», organised at the faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology of VSU and dedicated to the memory of Professor Vyacheslav B. Kashkin. Dmitriy Kiselyov is a member of the SamSIFL Tempusworking group, who designed and developed the materials of the module «French Language Improvement”. Continue Reading →
